Back in the race!
In 2011, part of Tranquilo’s racing crew got recruited to sail on the 43 foot; St. Maarten flagged “D-Trip”. They sailed to a 2nd place in the prestigious “Antigua Sailing Week” against top sailors from all corners of the world.
Tranquilo’s racing success
2011 was an interesting racing year for us. Tranquilo’s racing success led to invitations to race on other yachts. The 43 foot “D-Trip”, one of our competitors, invited 3 of our racing crewmembers to race the prestigious Antigua Sailing Week in April of 2011 with them. We helped them achieve a 2nd place finish after losing our chance of being 1st due to failure of the steering system.
The Tranquilo is back from Bonaire’s 42nd International Sailing Regatta
We have had some bad luck on the crossing to Bonaire and had to battle a small electrical fire off the coast of Curacao in the engine room resulting in a burned out starter motor.
Tranquilo is second place in the Aruba Rembrandt Regatta!
Recently the Rembrandt Regatta Aruba was held, a two day racing event where 3 races were sailed. For the first time after many years of winning in the cruising class, the Tranquilo decided to go sail the racing class instead. For not being an all-out racing sailboat, we held our own in this class and are very happy with our results.
